Im vorliegenden Band wird eine Zwischenbilanz nach sechs Jahren intensiver Forschung am IDeA-Zentrum gezogen. Viele der hier berichteten Erkenntnisse lassen sich unmittelbar mit aktuellen bildungspolitischen Diskussionen und mit Neuerungen der Bildungspraxis verknüpfen. Nicht immer stützen dabei die empirischen Evidenzen die tradierten pädagogischen Vorgehensweisen. Anhand der Ergebnisse der wichtigsten Forschungsprojekte aus dem IDeA-Zentrum werden die Entwicklungsverläufe von Kindern nachgezeichnet, die verschiedenen bildungsrelevanten Risiken ausgesetzt waren.
